I am also trying to get some more power of my 88 Savage, but using "conventional" methods - i.e. valve and carb. adjustment etc. So far so good - till now I reached the speed of 150 km/h which is almost 100 miles/h, but not each time - the usual top speed is 140 km/h. I bought another 5 speed '96 LS-650 engine which I intend deeply to customise. But I wamt to ask anyone from the forum - 1.Is the top speed of 4 and 5 speed Savages the same?
2. Are there any custom pistons and heads - like in DR-650, 750,800 that can boost the engine output?
3. What is the reason for "remap of the electronics" ? I think this is one of the troubleless parts of the Savage?
